This area has been a real challenge. I hope that the addition of Calcidic lime in this horrific acid soil will help in growing colorful sun-loving plants.

Neviusia alabamensis, or Alabama Snowwreath, is a rare and endangered native that I found at the N.C. Botanical Garden in Chapel Hill. A passalong plant from my Mom, I can't wait until Dwarf Flowering Almond, Prunus glandulosa, spreads to make a huge stand in this bed.
The 8-foot tall shrub, Indigofera amblyantha has an abundance of small, pink pearl-like blossoms from March thru October. Aster oblongifolius is a native that is extremely showy in the fall garden.
