In the shade of oaks in the backyard, a berm was installed and planted with a mix of evergreen shrubs, predominantly evergreen, to act as a screen.

The intense fragrance of Viburnum x juddii draws you into the garden. Maroon colored flowers adorn Illicium floridanum.
Semi-evergreen, 7-feet tall and wide Lonicera fragrantissima is a must in the winter garden with its small but numerous, highly fragrant flowers. Viburnum x pragense has lustrous, leathery dark green leaves shrub and showy pink-to-white flowers.
The flowers of Viburnum opulus resemble that of a Lacecap Hydrangea, which blooms later in the season.
