The Hangar Bed is an island bed. This is that part of the bed facing south.

A fantastic anniversary present from my husband, Gleditsia triancanthos 'Emerald Cascade'(Weeping Honeylocust)purchased at Architectural Trees Nursery. Agastache 'Blue Fortune' blooms for weeks in front of the pink-flowering form of Kalimeris and behind Stachys 'Countess Helene Von Stein' (Giant Lamb's Ear).
Baptisia x 'Purple Smoke' is a natural cross that has smokey grey flowers and gray stems. The scarlet-orange bells of Sinningia sellovii (Hardy red gloxina) hang from arched stems.
Bright orange Asclepias tuberosa is a host plant for the Monarch butterfly. Try it with Achillea millefolium 'Paprika'. Egyptian Walking Onion adds an architectural effect to the garden, as well as being edible. Children love this plant.
Solidago 'Fireworks' and dried pods of Baptisia in September.
