Receiving mostly morning sun, this bed is magnicifent in the spring.

Digitalis and Coreopsis provide color at the hangar in April. The flowers of Digitalis purpurea (Foxglove) are favorites of hummingbirds.
Sow Papaver somniferum (Opium Poppy) seeds in November here in the South for spring bloom. Aquilegia vulgaris 'Nora Barlow' is a fully double flowering columbine.
My friend brought this German Iris with her when she moved here from Indiana and shared it with me. She is stunned that it bloomed three times for me last year! Hippeastrum 'Ackermanii', blooming in June. Not a houseplant...hardy in our area!!
A Baptisia seedling that is blue with yellow markings. Midsummer blooms of native Phlox paniculata and a yellow daylily make a wonderful combination.
Narrow-Leaf Silk Grass, Pityopsis graminifolia blooms in late summer with low-growing, silvery leaves. I found this native at the N.C. Botanical Garden plant sale.
