One of my oldest beds with Rhododendrons, azaleas and lots of carefree, shade-loving pernnials making it a colorful sight in spring.

The evergreen vine, Clematis armandii has lovely, creamy white, fragrant blooms in the very early spring woodland garden. Green-and-Gold and Hosta at the base of Azaleas.
Native to our area, deciduous azalea Rhododendron canascens is covered with rose-pink, highly fragrant blooms in early spring. Carpeting the ground is Comfrey, Ajuga, Hellebore, and Epimedium.
Rhododendrons love growing in my sandy soil. This one is 'Pink Pearl'.
