From spring through fall, the Pondside Driveway Bed has so much color. The natural pond is fed by Beaver Creek.

The Driveway Bed from across the pond in early spring. Euphorbia characias ssp wulfenii is a passaong plant from a dear departed friend. Its blooms are prominent from early spring thru early summer. A blue-ribbon winner for me.
Siberian iris 'Caesar's Brother' and Baptisia 'Alba' make a beautiful marriage. The color of Siberian iris 'Caesar's Brother' reminds me of royalty...a velvety purplish/blue.
Delphiniums are what we Southerners would kill to be able to grow. Since we cannot, self-seeding annual Larkspur makes a great substitution. Labelled "pink," this Clematis turned out to be the white Duschess of Edinburgh. I am thrilled!
Native plants line the driveway: Echinacea purpurea (Purple Coneflower) and Phlox paniculata 'Nikki' are perfect when planted together. Mildew resistant and tolerant of hotter and drier conditions that M. didyma, native Monarda fistulata 'Claire Grace' has found a home in my garden.
The sweet fragrance of Ginger Lily (Hedychium coronarium) permeates the air in late summer. Salvia puberula blooms summer to frost. Before I learned its name, I called it my "Sputnik" plant.
